Crazy Incorrigible Nature lover Pediatrician Star gazer Cynophile
Fathers come in every shape and size,
Talking about daddy issues we should normalise.
Mine was always backstage,,supporting my every need and want,
that was his way of love,a hug or a kiss, i wanted but didnt demand.
I also wanted him to speak, about his life, love, loss and what made him get up after every fall,
but all i got was "Message me when you land" or "Hardwork is everything", that's all.
He never spoke about his vulnerability, his day or told us his childhood stories,
but i very well knew, when returning home became 10.15pm instead of 10pm, he was sitting by the door, full of worries.
So many dusty photo albums in the loft, bringing my childhood back to life,
even though he never hugged her infront of me, i had seen him, always respecting his wife.
The outings, the safaris, the summer swimming days, the himalayan treks, taking us to the fair,
enriching my life with so many experiences,he was always there.
He pampered me too with chocolates and goodies and all my whimsical ventures,
rather than a warm hug, he put all his love in such cute gestures.
I saw the iron man from battling illness and living life without a single sigh,
to fighting fiercely for his life, becoming frail and helpless as time went by.
And the day he left us, i didn't go numb or cry for days,
he had made my mom so strong and kept a detached attachment from me, preparing us for the grays.
No way of upbringing is right or wrong, everyone is unique and should stay true,
on some days i wish he was here, i would hug him, talk more and make him talk too.
I dont remember him ever saying it, but i know he loved me,
when i become a parent, I'll be me, and someday my love, my child will see.
