“How do you stay motivated?” That’s a question I hear all the time. Here’s a secret for you: I’m not always motivated to work out. Sure most days I am, because it makes me feel better. But if I only worked out on the days I was motivated, I wouldn’t get the results that I desire. The trick is I stay disciplined. Working out is a habit that I have created. To me it’s like brushing my teeth it’s just something that has to get done. It doesn’t have to be a crazy two hour session every day, but some form of movement (and walking is movement!) gets done every day. Build better habits 🤘🏻❤️
Backyard tanning season- and beach season are upon us! My two reminders to you: Every body is a beach body. Love the skin you’re in, and be confident in whatever season of life you’re in. Wear your damn sunscreen and REAPPLY! Sunscreen isn’t magic, it doesn’t last all day. You need to reapply every 80 minutes and more frequently if you are sweating or swimming. 👙☀️🌊📚
Which photo do you think I weigh more in? 28:the year I decided to get in the “best shape of my life” and try to look amazing for 30. Hours and hours of cardio, doing weight watchers and not much weights 38: lifting 1-1.5 hours 5 times a week, and getting in 10K steps a day. Zero cardio. Following flexible dieting and eating 90% Whole Foods, 10% fun stuff (but on vacation that may have been reversed!) I am at least 12, if not 15 pounds heavier in the photo on the right. I use the scale as a measuring metric, but I don’t get hung up on it. My waist measurement is probably smaller now then it was at 28. There are 2 lessons in this post: don’t get hung up on the scale, and don’t be afraid to lift weights. I promise you, you won’t just “blow up” or turn into a hulk overnight!
I never thought I’d get to take a THREE WEEK road trip before retirement, but @grantgainz made my wildest dreams come true. We had the most amazing adventure, and more pictures will be coming. We started off at a Pecan Farm in Georgia, then hiked Tallulah Gorge in the rain 🌧 We celebrated Grant’s birthday and Cinco de Mayo in one of our favorite places, Greenville South Carolina, where we stayed and played on Paris mountain. We stayed at a brewery in southern North Carolina and explored the beautiful Pisgah National Forest, before moving up to crazy Asheville. We headed over to Tennessee, staying at a gorgeous vineyard outside of Gatlinberg. Then we moved on to Knoxville, and finally Nashville, just in time for the mask mandate to be lifted, and the city be absolutely crazy (I’ve never been anywhere like that!) We moved south to Little River Canyon in Alabama and had an adventure with a flat tire before exploring the gorgeous scenery (best state park to camp at!) and moved south to Desoto Caverns where we had quite the adventure with a broken water line at the campground, and no staff to help us 🤣 Then we headed south to Headland to stay on Grant’s friend’s beautiful farm and connect with his cousin . Finally, we stopped on an animal rescue farm for a night in Jacksonville before we finally made it home yesterday. So many laughs and good times (and a few scary ones!) will give us memories and stories to talk about forever. This was hands down the best (and most relaxing) vacation I’ve ever taken. Thank you so much Grant, for driving the whole trip and giving me such an adventure. I love you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much to everyone who took a second to vote for me in the Maxim cover girl contest. I made it like 12 weeks, and was the first in my group the whole time, but slipped at the very end. It was so neat to even go that far! I truly appreciate all the help and shares, my friends are the best!! 📸 @nicholasvenazio aka @imperial_physiques ☀️ @healthyglowtanfl 👙 @bikinislayer
Asheville was weird, but so are we. Side note: the people here really loved @grantgainz shirt. He’s never had so many compliments on a shirt. Even got a standing ovation at a museum. 🤣
