Tonight I will mostly be drinking wine and eating lovely bbq food in preparation for repainting my living room tomorrow from white to pretty much black! Big shout out to @braceyinteriors who have been totally amazing, opening the shop up for me on a Sunday and mixing up all sorts of colours to fit with my desired result. I think I will forever be known as that crazy ‘leather woman’ after the paint and paper library colour.
The winter is nearly over. We had a beautiful warm and sunny weekend. I still haven’t picked up my camera. I took it out with me today but didn’t get it out of my bag! Even when I saw my favourite mimosa tree, I took a pic with my phone instead. I need my travels for inspiration! I need change of scenery! Anyone else feels stuck?
Sadly there is a lot of misinformation out there about COVID vaccination which is leading to a large number of vulnerable people, especially those from BAME background, to reject it. I am posting my picture on here in attempt to make it ‘visible and normal’ and to encourage those of you who are still in doubt to have it when it becomes available to you. I’m very grateful to have this opportunity to protect myself and others...
I haven’t posted in ages! I thought I’d pop in a say hello and wish you all a happy Valentines Day! I’ve been enjoying life without my camera for a change. Instead taking time to enjoy the moment, to eat well, rest, spend time with family, watch movies, read books, admire art, recharge my battery and replenish my creative supplies. Love to you all ❤️
Last week’s (I’m behind) art study was Fra Angelico’s The Annunciation. I didn’t instantly notice that the figures in this fresco are too large for the space and the scale is off... my interpretation is all about this! “Photography is the story I fail to put into words.” — Destin Sparks ✨ Our community of @clickprophotographers have come together to amplify our voice as women photographers. And it’s all yellow... “It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson . . Welcone to our #clickprosineurope loop. This week’s art study was Jan van Eyck’s Arnolfini Portrait, one of the most studied and debated pieces of art. I loved learning about its symbolism and history. I had no idea that Arnolfini gallery in Bristol takes its name after this very painting... My interpretation of this painting therefore had to include this well known part of Bristol!
