Many people who left New York City for the short term have found they want to return, especially with events coming back. Those who fled to the suburbs have realized they appreciate a faster pace, and agents and developers said they are working with buyers looking to get back to urban life. 

We have had a lot of inquiries for people that are wanting larger apartments. The one-bedroom market has not been as robust as it had been in previous years because people who would have bought a one bedroom are now two-bedroom buyers. Two-bedroom buyers have become three-bedroom buyers.

The total of asking prices for luxury contracts in Brooklyn climbed for the fifth week in a row.

Forty homes asking more than $2 million went into contract last week in Brooklyn . The total of those contracts’ asking prices was $124.8 million, up from the previous week’s $108 million. Nestapple accounted for 4.1% of that which is a milestone!!!! Keep the pace @nicolefishmann

There are more real estate agents than actual houses for sale in the United States. Any given day, you're likely to see about half a million homes for sale, and there are 1.5 million members of the National Association of Realtors. Since a few brokers do a lot of deals this means that most brokers do less than 1 deal per year. Thoughts? 

In New York (5 boroughs) there are 20,000 residential deals a year for 25,000 realtors which means that most brokers do less than a deal per year and do not renew their license.

With vaccine distribution picking up speed, employees are being called back to their offices by some of New York’s biggest firms, and so are workers employed by the city, who are due back in May. And as theaters and other venues make plans for reopening nights, many are hopeful the city could soon return to something that resembles life before the pandemic.
