utterly delighted to finally be able to share with you that these portraits I shot of @essenceboheme are in @nadjaanderssonillustration’s book on witchcraft, “V”, bound by @juju.books.

this was one of my last shoots in person before lockdown last year and the book was designed by @po.levy, so it is a very special project and a Glasgow family affair.

congratulations all ♥️and I will never get over seeing my work in print

sorry for the radio silence, I’ve been cooking up some truly scrumptious things behind the scenes 😋 not least working on my series on lovers living together during the pandemic, starting with the wonderful @margaudy and @michaelaxkav 💕

I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with the response to the project so far 🥺 if you’ve been in touch about being involved I’ll get back to you very soon! and if you haven’t yet, please do! I’m always looking for new faces and you can be anywhere in the world - I shoot over video call!

I should probably just mention I am completely booked out for creative portraits for May, but if you’d like to book a shoot from June I’m your gal! I’ve also been doing a lot of fashion stuff and I am hungry for more 💘

it’s not every day you get to work with your best friend 💘 here’s a sneak peek of the shoot I did with @sashaveitch for @tits.up.mgzn. thank you Sash for being you, Farryn for the giggles, and @we_are_thrift for letting us borrow this Cinderella dress ✨

how well do you know the back of your hand? we often ask this question in our @dearbody.blason workshops and I still don’t know the answer for myself. my body keeps talking to me but I don’t always have the time to listen. how do you find a balance between health and productivity? can there even be one? any tips for getting the care you need from your doctors are very welcome. i’m tired of not being listened to.

also, if you would like to join one of our Dear Body workshops or collaborate with us, DM me or @dearbody.blason. we’d love to hear from you ✨

I started getting into photography properly when I was a teenager, making my friends dress up in their favourite clothes at sleepovers while I’d play about with lights around them. That’s how fun and informal I like my shoots to feel, even now.

This was taken a couple of years ago in Amsterdam, at Faye’s flat, which was right below mine, after she’d made me the most delicious dinner. Faye is the best cook, friend, model, and rollerblader. She is also a talented piano tuner. If you’re in the market for a new instrument, contact her @damn.fine.tuning and ask her for her coconut noodle soup recipe while you’re at it 💘

I bought myself new lenses for the first time in years last week. I can’t tell you the fear I felt that I had just squandered my savings and jeopardised my safety net for when work dries up. It felt like an unearned treat, an over generous gift to myself I didn’t deserve, and it made me deeply uncomfortable. I’d been making do with one lens I bought for under £100, known as the “plastic fantastic”, for the whole of my career. I don’t know why I think of these as luxury items when they are professional tools I need in order to make my work. But it takes a lot of courage to stand up and say this is what I want to do and I am willing to do whatever it takes to be able to do it, whether that’s saving for months to buy extortionate new lenses, quitting your day job, or even just having the energy to create in the first place. I want you to know that sometimes I don’t feel strong enough to do any of that either, but you only see the times I do. Remember that I may only see that of you, too.

There’s a pandemic going on and none of us can escape that. Many of us are struggling. We’ve lost out on priceless opportunities to meet new people that may turn into clients, make new friends that may turn into collaborators, and we maybe haven’t even seen enough of the world to feel inspired. Drop your work accounts below, tell us what you do, connect with people you admire. Invite them to work with you. Let’s make some friends. 💘
