Lick of approval from Lulu-cat! 💗👅🐈

It’s mine and Piece-a-Kate’s birthday this coming Sunday! 🥳 To celebrate, instead of doing a giveaway (these clone accounts scare me), I’m doing my biggest sale yet, shopwide next weekend!

Keep an eye out for the discount code (especially for you all) closer to the time. Just a little something to celebrate and say thank you for being so awesome. 💗

A little late with my trees planted post this month… but here it is! 😁

June was an extremely slow month (Summer & things opening up again weren’t great for us online retailers) but I’m so grateful it started to pick up and made it to 22 orders in the end! Which of course meant 22 trees were planted!

Thank you to everyone who bought from me in the month of June! It meant another tree was donated on your behalf.

Swipe to see which cause got the most votes last month. If you’d like to read more about it, visit @onetreeplanted or watch my story highlight labelled “trees planted”

Thank you again! I can’t wait to see what July has in store for us! 🌳🍃🌲

Do you prefer the before or after? 🤩

Gold/silver stainless steel hoops are available to swap out on almost all dangle and drop earrings in my shop! If the option isn’t there, just pop me a message and I’ll see what I can do. ☺️

I once tried minimalism... it was great. I got rid of about 80% of my possessions and moved to London from South Africa.

I found a lot of really useful pieces of wisdom from practicing minimalism, one of which was single tasking and appreciating each moment for its simple joys. Another was the amount of clarity I had when I discarded what no longer served me and brought me joy. The only problem is, I just don’t know if I can label myself as a minimalist anymore after getting into this line of work. After all I have A LOT of jewellery. 😅

I also struggle with another thing… When it comes to design, are you more of a minimalist (neutrals, simple lines, versatile design) or maximalist (colour, mixing prints, and lots of interest)? I’d love to know because I switch between the two a lot! 😅

(This image is a series of digital collages I created whilst feeling stuck in lockdown, it’s called “At Home but Dreaming of the Ocean”)

The Turquoise stone properties are connected to the healing energy of water, the life-giving element that sustains the planet and the origins of life itself.

Read below for a little something I found out whilst researching my favourite stone of all time. 💙

“Turquoise is a purification stone and dispels negative energy. It can be worn to protect against outside influences, balances and aligns all the chakras, stabilising mood swings and instilling inner calm. Turquoise promotes self-realisation and assists creative problem solving. It is a symbol of friendship, and stimulates romantic love.”

…and a little history;

“For thousands of years, Turquoise has spanned all cultures, prized as a symbol of wisdom, nobility and the power of immortality. Among the Ancient Egyptians, Persians and Chinese, Aztecs and Incas of South America, and Native North Americans, Turquoise was sacred in its adornment and for power, luck, and protection.”

There is so much to read about this gorgeous stone and what makes it so special. I wonder if we are all subconsciously drawn to a stone because of it’s beauty or really because of it’s underlying properties? What do you think? 💙

Oversized scrunchies have dropped! …Quite literally 😅

Each design I’ve created, has been made with the utmost care. They are very limited in quantity, and in some cases, even one of a kind! So if you’ve been eyeing a particular design, better be quick!

Link to shop is in my bio! 💜🌿💙

Shining a spotlight on these three gorgeous sterling silver and amethyst earrings as the colour is so perfectly matched with my oversized vintage scrunchie range! (launching this eve at 6:30pm UK time!)

Which would you choose… number 1,2 or 3? 💜

Hey you guys! It’s been a while so thought I’d reintroduce myself with a few random facts to get to know me a little better, and hopefully you too!

🌿 I started my very first “business” when I was 6 years old. I would print out cute little graphics on sticky paper, cut them out and sell those stickers at school (and to anyone walking past my house). 😂

🌿 I was once on the front cover of a magazine in South Africa with famous rugby player Francois Pienaar. I was about 5 and ignored all direction and wouldn’t look up from the flowers I was collecting in my dress. 😂

🌿 I went through a phase of only wearing black, for years! And I absolutely hated pink until probably my mid to late 20’s. Now I can’t get enough pink! 💗

🌿 If I could have one super power, it would be the ability to breathe under water - I just love being in the water whether it’s a swimming pool, the ocean or just the bath. 🛁

I’d love to know a random fact about you too! Pop one below… Or tell me which super power would you choose if you could have just one? 😄

As I was reading this review to my boyfriend, something about it just got me a little choked up…

Running a small business all by yourself is no walk in the park. There are times (and I think many small business owners will agree) where you have doubted what you are doing and whether you’re even good at it or not. But every time a 5 star review comes in, especially one like this, it reassures me to carry on and pick all my self doubt up and toss it out the window!

If you’re reading this, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for a small business! It helps so much and puts a pep in our step that is so often needed. 💗

“Use it up” is definitely appropriate for my new luxury vintage fabric scrunchie range! I had some very small pieces that I had to be extremely strategical about and how I cut it. I was always amazed at how some pieces had literally no waste whatsoever... so satisfying!

Swipe for the before and after of some special designs heading to my shop come the 1st of July! These particular ones were created from handmade vintage curtains. I couldn’t believe the beautiful quality of this checkered fabric. 💜 And of course, I couldn’t help but match them with some limited 70s floral printed fabric.
