🐝 🏨 Bee hotel making session

Saturday 18th September
⏳10 am - 11:30 am (drop in)

βœ‹πŸΏβœ‹πŸΏβœ‹πŸΎβœ‹πŸ½βœ‹πŸΌβœ‹πŸ»
Everyone welcome

πŸ“Bridge Street Community Garden, 165a Bluebird Bridge, Banbury OX16 5QF

Come help us make a home for our garden bees.

Bees are our star pollinators: join us in creating a bijou residence to tempt them to book in to Bridge Street Community Garden.

The event is brought to you by Banbury Community Action Group and Wild Banbury as a perfect way to mark the launch of the Great Big Green Week.

The Great Big Green Week is a celebration of the environmental work being carried out by local communities. Where better to be part of its launch, then, than at Bridge Street Community Garden -a place where people come together to look after nature while growing food.

Exciting extra!! We’ll be joined at the Garden by Giant Endangered Animals (with local environmentalists inside!).
Be with us to give these beautiful beasts a warm send off as they make their way to Oxford. In Oxford, our Banbury β€˜animals’ will join the β€œWalk for Life on Earth” march, organised by Friends of the Earth Oxford.

Gifts of materials for the hotel would be very welcome: bring them with you on the day:
Bamboo canes - we need lots of these: they don’t have to be in perfect condition!
Sticks - about the same diameter as bamboo.

Please join us!!!! We’d love to see you at the event! #GreenWeekOxon

β€œOne #Banbury rebel has joined the XR Camino to COP a 500 mile pilgrimage starting from both #Bristol and #London walking all the way to #Glasgow, sleeping most nights on church hall floors.
Our Michael is doing the whole leg from #Bristol to #Birmingham. We joined him today and walked about 14 miles through glorious #Cotswold countryside and were greeted in Stroud by their Radical Red Band (who knew?) who led us through the streets to our stop-point for the night.” -Liz @xrbanbury #extinctionrebellion #rebelforlife

We are having our next XR Banbury Meeting on Thursday 16th September, 7pm. at Friends Meeting House, #Banbury. Following on from The Impossible Rebellion the format will be slightly different. We will start with a listening circle at 7pm, followed by a meeting at 7.30pm to discuss and plan for our involvement in Big Green Week and Climate Cafes. Then about 8.00pm we will have a Bring and Share Supper - vegan/vegetarian food (please avoid using nuts). So bring a sweet or savoury dish and label whether vegan or vegetarian. Bring your own plate, cutlery, serving utensils. Bring your own cup/mug. Be prepared to take your dirty dishes home to wash. We plan to have the food on the hatch that one person serves. We'll have a big table and chairs out and sit down together. Everyone is welcome to all or whatever part of the evening they wish to take part in. We'll need some people to set up both rooms at 6.45pm and people to tidy up. Will need tea, coffee, etc and possibly soft drinks. People can bring their own? Could we ask that you if you are able to then bring a small donation towards cost of hire? Hope to see you there. #xrbanbury
