Which alt-milk do you think is the most popular?

New research suggests that one in three people in Britain are now choosing plant-based milk alternatives - with analysts saying the uptake is being driven by environmental and health considerations.

Shoppers spent £100m more in 2020 on alt-milks, made from oats, almonds or soya, turning it into a near £400m-a-year market.

The findings, from Mintel, said 32% of those polled drank plant-based milk, which was up from 25% in 2020 - and it is even higher among 25- to 44-year-olds at 44%.

A quarter of the 2,000 people who took part in the research also said the pandemic had made eating vegan or plant-based food and drink more appealing to them. For the under-35s that figure rose to 38%.

The report also revealed that oat milk had become the plant-based milk of choice, overtaking almond to become the biggest seller in 2020.

The average person’s milk consumption in the UK has fallen 50% since the 1950s, however it soared on the back of pandemic lifestyle changes, with sales up by £100m to £3.2bn.

According to a 2018 study, a glass of dairy milk produces almost three times more greenhouse gas than any plant-based milk. But vegan options have drawbacks of their own ... so what milk should we drink?

Keep dreaming your almond milk is made from almonds and nothing else 😂 There are some extremely questionable pseudo health products out there. Plant-based dairy being one of them.
—
The majority, 98%, of plant-based milk are questionable pseudo food - greenwashing marketing + filtered down base / key ingredients.
Perhaps if we started not thinking of ourselves as victims to food sensitives blaming food entirely for our problems but look inwards with ourselves with undigesting certain foods and common sense approach in understanding geology and seasonal flux of photosynthesis and water cycles with why we are so sensitive and incapable of consuming anything, plants and meat.
—
Perhaps the way we produce milk is wrong too. Should cows eat grains 😂 nope? Should milk be heat treated and kill its naturally occurring bacteria? Altering its amino acid side chain making it harder for humans to digest? Should we even be consuming milk in the first place? Or even a pulverized, water-absorbing nut that technically has built a defense mechanism to avoid being destroyed in crazy amounts?
—
I don’t think consuming the occasional almond milk is negative. But drinking it regularly can be problematic.
Don’t be deluded in thinking because it’s almond milk, and it contains significant almonds. You are getting a cocktail of unnecessary fillers or stabilizers to something that shouldn’t even be stabilized in the first place.
-
There are some decent brands out there, but 💰. Perhaps making your own is better or making diluted water + whole fat coconut milk is a better option, or just having an espresso or black filtered coffee is even better.
Ask these questions for yourself?

We have an in-house biogas plant. With the help of cow dung and cow urine, we produce the biogas that is used to make our hero product ghee and natural fertilisers. These natural fertilisers are used to grow cow’s fodder which ultimately turns out to be pure and healthy.
Our cows eat the best quality fodder, which is grown naturally with the hard work and dedication of the people on the farm.

Ask us what our cows love the most? It’s their free-grazing time!
Meet Gita, our cow who is generally seen to be very calm and composed. We can see her all excited only when there’s grazing time, and she eagerly wants to move out of the cowshed to graze on the open grass.

She loves her cowshed partners and is often seen cuddling with them during the daytime. Gita is a good water drinker as she drinks a lot of water from time to time. She keeps herself hydrated and fed well. Gita’s favourite caretaker is Mukesh, as Gita gets happy when Mukesh takes care of her.

Gita is one of our healthy cows and she gives us all the happiness just being there with us on the farm.
